Tucked away within the renowned Hwange National Park, is African Bush Camp’s prized Somalisa Camp.The park is known for its large families of elephants as well as predators such as cheetah and an assortment of plains game.

As African Bush Camp’s first Hwange safari lodge, a lot of attention went into the details of the camp, which was built by the company’s owner, Beks Ndlovu. Here, under the dappled shade of an acacia grove, along the edge of an ancient seasonal floodplain, you will find just seven, beautifully furnished rooms.This means you are guaranteed a personalized and exclusive stay. 

Each room offers incredible panoramic views of the surrounding wilderness, a lovely ensuite bathroom (complete with a roll-top bath) and all the extra creature comforts you could hope for in a remote safari camp.Take advantage of the splash pool in between game drives, or grab your camera and head to the elephant pool for great, up-close photos of these spectacular giants.

Why We Love It:

The park is well-known for its elephant herds, which often visit the elephant drinking pool at the camp. It is truly wonderful to see these giant mammals up close.
