Tswalu Kalahari
South Africa’s Largest Private Game Reserve
Situated in South Africa’s Northern Cape province, Tswalu Kalahari is the country’s largest, privately owned game reserve, which is tucked away in the awe-inspiring habitat of the Kalahari Desert. Here, arid savannahs meet the Korannaberg mountains and ochre-colored sand dunes; creating a safari unlike any other in South Africa.
Four of the big five (breathtaking black-maned lion, leopard, buffalo and black rhino) as well as an array of desert-adapted wildlife such as cheetah, oryx, wild dog, pangolin, aardvark, and brown hyena roam this exceptional region. Not to mention, being able to witness habituated meerkats up close – one of our most favorite wildlife adventures!
The reserve is renowned for being a conservation success, where old farmlands were purchased and rehabilitated back to their previous, wild glory so that indigenous fauna could be reintroduced back to the region.
