Gorilla Trekking and Volcanic Hikes

Despite being recorded as Uganda’s smallest national park, Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is an important mountain gorilla conservation area. Here, its densely forested slopes, which span the northern section of the three Virunga Volcanoes, and which also share a border with Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park and Democratic Republic of the Congo’s Virunga National Park, shelter families of gorilla as well as an array of plant and animal species. We loved the sightings of golden monkeys as well as being able to record bird species such as the Rwenzori batis, regal sunbird and crowned hornbill – just some of the 115 species recorded.
