Witness the Longest Land Migration on Earth
November – March
Yes – you read that correctly! This itinerary takes you on a journey to view the longest terrestrial migration on the planet at Nxai National Park. Where over 20,000 zebra have made the 500 km journey from Chobe to the now lush open grassy plains to graze and give birth.
After three days of searching for desert adapted Kalahari lions and viewing herds of zebra, oryx and springboks in the lush green Kalahari. You are off to the “Jewel of the Kalahari” – the Okavango Delta. Between December and March there is an explosion of new life, bringing dramatic interactions between predators and prey in the region. With the water levels receding, you’ll have the opportunity to explore expansive grassy plains where predators such as lions, cheetahs, and wild dogs are waiting. Afterwards, you can consider heading further north to experience mokoro and other water safari activities.
Your final destination is at the tranquil and remote Linyanti Wildlife Reserve. Arguably Botswana’s premier safari destination, cruise the game-rich Savuti channel on a motor-boat in search for herds of elephant, hippo, lion, leopard and even endangered wild dogs. Or enjoy an array of other safari activities in the game-rich and lush region like walking safaris, barge cruises, mokoro and scenic helicopter flights.
