Gibb’s Farm
Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area, Tanzania
Nestled on the outer-slopes of the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater, Gibb’s Farm is an enchanting retreat, and one of our “must-experience” properties in Tanzania. The original farmhouse at Gibb’s was built in 1929, when the property (then a coffee plantation) was owned by a German duke. It was only in 1948, when the farm passed hands to the Gibb family that its true transformation began. Gibb’s Farm has been hailed as the oldest guest house in Tanzania and its dedication to personalised, unfussy, and authentic service has stood the test of time.
The keywords at Gibb’s are “a sense of wellbeing”, and you will certainly experience that here. The farm offers a selection of one-bedroom cottages, as well as two farmhouses that are great for generational travel. The quaint, classic cottages are famous for their outdoor showers, and feature unique furnishings and art. For small groups, we love the spaciousness of the farmhouses that boast two ensuite bedrooms and a private living area.
