If you are on the search for rhino, then look no further than the pristine wilderness of the Solio Game Reserve, in the Laikipia Plateau, which is home to Solio Lodge. Famous for its rhino viewing experiences, this special retreat is nestled within a verdant valley that is flanked by Mount Kenya and the Aberdare Mountains. 

Elegant and contemporary, the lodge offers just five guest cottages. Each cottage boasts floor-to-ceiling glass windows which frame Mount Kenya. Unwind on your private sundeck, warm up on cool African evenings in front of your crackling fireplace, and enjoy the spaciousness of your lovely ensuite bathroom – complete with a walk-in rain shower and free-standing bathtub.

Families or a small group can take advantage of the Family Cottage, which includes two cottages interconnected by a shared sitting area. 

In between game viewing adventures, we highly recommend a soothing massage or unwinding with one of the lodges delicious cocktails.

Solio’s journey as a safe haven for rhino began back in 1970. Today, it is home to over 200 black and white rhino, which are protected by a dedicated anti-poaching unit.
